INTENDED AUDIENCE

An interactive symposium designed for cardiothoracic surgeons involved in thoracic surgery.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this comprehensive 1.5 day educational event is to facilitate discussion on successful solutions for managing thoracic surgery and understand different surgical techniques, including robotic, as well as the use of sealants and hemostats.Discussions will include a review of preclinical and clinical data, science and technology of products, economics of thoracic surgery, pre-op and post-op risk reduction, and various
techniques, including robotics, for better patient outcomes.
Surgeons will have an opportunity to participate in a hands-on bioskills lab under the direct supervision of faculty

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

• Review current literature for surgical techniques, materials and patient management strategies
• Gain new insights into advanced techniques for thoracic surgery
• Demonstrate use of BD products in lung surgery
